  • Overall Technology strategic initiative championship within PETRONAS and across the Oil/Gas industry to assure improving the pace of right Technology application and Replications.

 

  • This led to initiation of Industry-wide Technology Application & Replication Dialogue (TAR Dialogue) platform and PETRONAS-Academia Collaboration platforms.

 

  • Development and asset management processes has been enhanced to incorporate the asset Technology requirements and right cost framing.

 

  • Development of cost, performance and execution benchmarking for all the projects throughout the field-life cycle through the Project maturation FEL processes with clearly identified tracking signposts and performance indicators to assure the right scope, cost, schedule, budget, value, and volume.

 

  • More than 100 innovative solutions and technologies have been incorporated to various development and asset management projects across Malaysia for the past three years through the stablished Technology Chapter in AMIR process with huge value returns to those assets.

  • Gumusut-Kakap FDP and project under Water & Gas Injection and integrated Malikai deep water development through being tie-back to GK.

 

  • Lymbayong Deepwater de-risking plan and FDP formulation under Water injection scheme and Integrated Bestari development with Lymbayong.

 

  • Kelidang Cluster Ultra-deepwater Gas Condensate field, FDP formulation together with integrated Risk & Uncertainty management plan.

 

  • Deepwater Technologies applied as enablers are: Smart Well & Intelligent Completion, Thin Bed Characterization & Development, Smart Injection & Conformance Control, Sand Control & Management.

The provided solutions in above fields generated significant business values including USD 200 million cost reduction from expensive Deepwater Wells, additional 25 kbpd oil production, additional 10 % recovery factor equivalent to 70 MMSTB in only Kikeh deepwater field. 

The distinctive contributions in Kikeh project awarded the 2013 GOLD medal for in PETRONAS E&P Success Project's competition and Number of SPE and journal papers were published out of this work.

Our research, "Reliable Characterization and Modelling of the Capillary Transition Zone and Flow Dynamics in Oil Rim Reservoirs" (SPE 143983, July 2011), directly contributed to an increase of over 40 MMSTB in reserves and cost reductions surpassing USD 40 million. These interventions have critically extended the productive and economic lifespan of targeted fields by an estimated five to ten years, with the approach successfully replicated in six other fields. This initiative also received the Bronze Award at the PETRONAS EP Success Story Competition in 2013, acknowledging the successful doubling of reserves in the East Belumut Marginal Oil Rim Field. A series of influential technical papers published between 2013 and 2015 (IPTC 16740, IPTC 17753, SPE 171990, JPT November 2015, IPTC 17621) provide further documentation of our expertise in managing these intricate reservoir systems.
